Mechanical & Electrical Technician

Salary: Up to £60k PA + Benefits - dependent on experience and competencies

We’re looking for a hands-on Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join a highly skilled engineering team working within a large, safety-critical infrastructure environment. This is a varied and practical role where no two days are the same, offering long-term development, autonomy, and exposure to complex electromechanical systems.
You’ll play a key role in keeping essential systems running safely and reliably, while continuing to grow your skills through training, projects, and day-to-day engineering challenges.
What You’ll Be Doing

Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on a wide range of mechanical, electrical, automation, hydraulic, and building services equipment

Completing planned preventative maintenance as well as responding to breakdowns

Accurately recording all work using a computerised maintenance system

Working closely with operational control teams to coordinate maintenance activities

Carrying out isolations and completing safety documentation correctly

Making sure systems meet required operating standards and taking action when they don’t

Supporting small improvement projects and helping to improve maintenance processes

Taking part in safety briefings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

Sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues through training and teamwork

Being part of a collaborative engineering team, while progressing toward working independently
What we’re looking for

A mechanical or electrical qualification (ONC level or equivalent), or solid post-apprenticeship experience

Previous experience working in an M&E maintenance environment

Hands-on experience with industrial or automated systems

A full UK driving licence and valid passport

Additional language skills (such as French or another European language) are a bonus, but not essential
