Quantity Surveyor
Location: North Kent offices
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (all-in), depending on experience
Hours: 8:00am – 5:30pm Monday to Thursday | 8:00am – 3:30pm Friday

An established and growing construction contractor specialising in refurbishment and fit-out projects within live healthcare environments is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, based from its North Kent offices.
The business delivers technically challenging projects for healthcare providers across London and the Home Counties, where quality, safety and precision are critical.
Due to continued growth, this contractor is looking to recruit a commercially capable Quantity Surveyor with at least two years’ experience managing their own projects who is looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-moving and supportive environment.

The Role
Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple refurbishment and fit-out projects from procurement through to final account.
You will play an important role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget, efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Preparation and management of project cost plans and budgets
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Negotiation of subcontractor terms and agreement of variations
- Preparation and submission of valuations and applications for payment
- Management of change control and variations
- Production of monthly cost reports and cost/value reconciliations
- Liaising with Project Managers, Site Managers and clients
- Ensuring commercial compliance with contractual requirements
- Maintaining accurate commercial documentation and reporting
About You
We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership of projects and working within a collaborative team environment.
Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing your own projects as a Quantity Surveyor
- Experience working for a main contractor or specialist contractor
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Organised with strong reporting and administration skills
Desirable
- Construction-related degree or equivalent qualification
- Experience working on Design & Build contracts
- Experience delivering projects within the healthcare sector
