Senior Quantity Surveyor
Civil Engineering | Major Infrastructure Projects | Up to £90,000 Package
Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of major civil engineering schemes with a well-established regional contractor that genuinely invests in its people?
Our client is one of the South East's leading privately-owned civil engineering and construction businesses, delivering infrastructure, highways, groundworks, earthworks and complex civil engineering projects for both public and private sector clients. With an annual turnover in excess of £250 million, they have built an enviable reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely, collaboratively and profitably, while offering outstanding career development opportunities.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to commercially lead a major £30 million data centre infrastructure project in Didcot.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial delivery of a significant civils package from procurement through to final account.
This is a hybrid position, typically working:
Typical Responsibilities

Full commercial management of a £30m civil engineering package

Administration of both JCT and NEC contracts

Procurement and management of subcontractors

Preparation and agreement of subcontractor accounts

Monthly valuations and cost reporting

Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)

Management of change control and compensation events
-
Assessment and agreement of variations
-
Commercial risk management
-
Preparation and negotiation of final accounts

Working closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with Quantity Surveyors who have:

Previous experience as a Senior or experienced Project Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering

Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract

Experience managing drainage, ducting and infrastructure packages valued at £10m+

Excellent subcontract procurement and commercial management experience

Strong negotiation and communication skills
-
The ability to manage multiple commercial priorities while maintaining attention to detail
