An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager - Up to £60,000 Basic Salary + Company Car + Pension - to join a growing and highly respected specialist contractor based near Canterbury, Kent, on a fulltime, permanent basis.
This role would suit a Kent-based construction professional looking for a varied position that combines site management, client liaison and pre-construction involvement. Unlike many Site Manager roles that focus solely on project delivery, this opportunity offers involvement at tender stage, giving the successful candidate the chance to influence project planning, programming and delivery strategy from the outset.

Projects are located nationwide and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing up to four live projects at any one time.
Whilst the role will involve regular travel and overnight stays throughout the UK, the successful candidate will also be expected to spend approximately one day per week at the company's Kent head office, working alongside the Directors and operational team. As such, applicants should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Canterbury.
All accommodation, travel and subsistence costs associated with working away from home will be fully covered by the company.
The Role
Reporting directly to the senior management team, you will take responsibility for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of multiple projects from tender stage through to completion.
Key Responsibilities

Managing up to four live projects simultaneously

Ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety compliance across all sites

Preparing, reviewing and implementing RAMS

Undertaking site inspections, audits and toolbox talks

Managing site teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

Planning labour, plant and material requirements

Monitoring project programmes and ensuring key milestones are achieved

Managing quality control and ensuring works meet required specifications

Producing progress reports and project updates
-
Supporting tender submissions through planning and programming input

Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies

Working closely with Directors to ensure successful project delivery
Candidate Requirements

Previous experience as a Site Manager within construction, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure or enabling works environments

SMSTS Certificate (Essential)

First Aid at Work Qualification (Essential)

Valid CSCS Card (Essential)

Black Managers CSCS Card (Preferred)

Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)

Strong understanding of site Health & Safety legislation and best practice

Experience liaising directly with clients and stakeholders

Comfortable travelling nationwide and staying away from home when required
