Trainee Quantity Surveyor (QS)

The Role
My client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in construction and commercial management.
You will work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, gaining hands-on experience and developing a strong understanding of the commercial aspects of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee QS, your duties will include (full training provided):
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and project budgets
- Supporting the measurement and valuation of works (both on-site and from drawings)
- Assisting with subcontractor procurement, orders, and payments
- Supporting the monitoring and control of project costs
- Assisting in the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Maintaining accurate records of costs and commercial documentation
- Liaising with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Supporting material and subcontract procurement processes
- Assisting the commercial team with financial reporting and cost tracking
- Learning to identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Client Is Looking For:
- A strong desire to learn and develop within the construction industry
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Good IT skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
- A proactive and positive attitude
No prior experience is required—full training will be provided.
